Ban the Bugs!!

Definitely going to try this recipe to keep the mosquitoes off of us this summer! So quick and easy and nontoxic! I almost bought a premade spray from a more natural line, but noticed it had lemongrass EO (only in a small amount). While it was probably fine, I’d read that it is an irritating oil and has to be diluted extremely well. I feel more comfortable using a blend without it. Plus this is wayyyy cheaper.



Today’s Make your own Monday is very exciting! First of all, did you see our new KidSafe™ line? If you haven’t check it out! We wanted to share an easy way to keep the bugs off this summer.

What you’ll need:

  • 1 roll of select-a-size paper towels
  • 2 cups of warm water
  • 2 tbsp liquid castile soap or other gentle liquid soap
  • gallon size zip top bag
  • 50 drops of Ban the Bugs – from our new KidSafe™ line
  • OR 50 drops of Insect Shield


What you’ll do:

  1. Get a big bread knife and cut your roll of paper towels in half
  2. Place that half in a zip top bag
  3. Measure water in large measuring cup and add castile soap and essential oil, stir well to combine
  4. Pour over paper towels and allow to moisten
  5. Remove paper core (which gets soft and can be pulled out)
